History[]
In mid-1950s, the Soviet Army started trials for a new infantry weapons system to replace the 7.62x39mm RPD. In 1961, they the Kalashnikov system which was a modified AKM assault rifle. RPK stands for Ruchnoy Pulemyot Kalashnikova - Kalashnikov hand-held (light) machine gun.
Conflict: Desert Storm[]
The RPK, incorrectly referred to as "RPK-74 Light Machine Gun" in-game, is used mainly by Iraqi soldiers, and can also be equipped by the player.
